Sucking-up to Teacher - More Schools Cleaning Contracts

Norse Commercial Services has been awarded schools cleaning contracts worth around £480k a year in Medway.

The four-year agreement with Medway Council covers 18 primary, junior and infant schools in the area, including two academy trust schools not under Local Authority control but which used Medway Council commissioning services to tender.

The services, which will be delivered from Norse’s depot in Medway, include daily cleans of classrooms, staff rooms, communal areas, toilets, sports halls, and periodic deep cleans.

Around 80 staff will transfer from the incumbent contractor to Norse under Transfer of Undertakings, Protection of Employment) (TUPE) regulations.

Phil Johnson, Norse’s Operations Director in Medway said: “The transfer of these schools to Norse is an indication of the council’s satisfaction with our business practices. Cleaning in Medway is now worth around £2.2m a year to Norse and provides employment for over 330 people in the area."
