PTSG Floats While EIC Flys - FM News Round-up

AIMing for floatation

PTSG announced last year that it intended to list on AIM and has now filed documents to the London Stock Exchange - its target admission date was Wednesday 11 February. Paul Teasdale, Chief Executive at PTSG, said the company’s decision to float signifies a huge step in its development. “Since PTSG was established in 2007, we have grown year-on-year and we want an IPO (Initial Public Offering) to not just help us maintain that but accelerate it.

“With circa 2,000 three and five year contracts, we are a group which enjoys an enormous amount of repeat business. We offer multiple cross-selling opportunities which are made possible by the expertise our skilled teams possess.

PTSG is a niche specialist service provider able to partner with facilities management companies to provide services they do not deliver themselves.

“Floating on the open market is an important step for PTSG. Despite our rapid rise, we are acutely aware of the need to continually reinvest in the company in order to secure new works and lay the foundations of the future of PTSG, something we know floating will help us to achieve,” concluded Teasdale. 

Premier Technical Service Group Limited, which is the parent company of PTSG Access and Safety, PTSG Electrical Services, PTSG High Level Cleaning and PTSG Specialist M&E, is headquartered in Castleford, West Yorkshire and has ten operational bases around the UK, employing more than 220 people.

 

EIC wins significant contract to maintain MOD estate

EIC is set to play a key role in maintaining the Ministry of Defence  estate in the south east of England after winning a facilities management contract with CarillionAmey.

A three-year deal, which started on  February 1, will see EIC deliver all planned and reactive building fabric and maintenance work at 42 sites across the MoD’s estate, including high-profile locations such as Sandhurst, RAF Brize Norton and RAF Northolt.

Phil Dove, CEO of EIC, said: “This deal makes the CarillionAmey joint venture one of EIC’s biggest FM clients to date.” EIC’s deal forms part of CarillionAmey’s £4.5 billion agreement with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) to provide hard and soft facilities and asset management for more than 150 MoD sites in the UK and over 14,000 assets.

 

CBRE in good health with Aptuit brief

Last week, CBRE, the global real estate advisor, revealed it had been appointed to provide facilities management services to Aptuit at its 118,000sq.ft site in Oxfordshire, spanning offices, laboratories, manufacturing and research and development centres. The Aptuit site specialises in the development and manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients operating out of three buildings at its Milton Park home in Oxfordshire, UK. This agreement marks Aptuit’s first full outsource of its UK facilities management requirements.

Following a competitive tender, CBRE was awarded the contract through its recently acquired technical engineering services arm, Norland Managed Services. CBRE will deliver mechanical and electrical engineering, project and energy management, front of house and handyman services, alongside cleaning, catering, and landscaping. In addition, CBRE will provide laboratory instrumentation maintenance and calibration services to support Aptuit’s own scientific professionals.

 

Mitie extends contract with Standard Life in Edinburgh

Mitie has extended its contract with Standard Life, the savings and investment company. The renewed contract, which follows a competitive tender process, will see Mitie’s Environmental team of over 80 people deliver services across the Standard Life headquarters and properties in Edinburgh. Services to be delivered under the contract will include cleaning, gritting, landscaping, pest control and window cleaning. Mitie’s catering business, Gather & Gather, will also be providing catering. 

 

ISS Facility Services gains UBS Integrated FM Contract

ISS Facility Service will be responsible for the UK integrated facilities management services for UBS AG the financial services organisation. From June 1st 2015, ISS will provide a fully integrated FM management model including technical engineering services, security, cleaning, energy & environmental management, health & safety management and customer support services. ISS will work alongside UBS to manage the existing portfolio of FM operations at their existing buildings in the City of London as well as national branch offices.  Critically, the contract includes the transition management responsibility into UBS's prestigious new building called 5 Broadgate, a state of the art, 700,000 sq feet premises to be occupied as of Autumn 2016.

 Wayne Tanner, UBS Executive Director, Head of IFM & Transition, Group Corporate Services said: "A proven expertise in high profile, strategic change management and FM competency were sought. ISS consistently demonstrated a superior value proposition."

Standard Chartered and A.N. Other

Shepherd FM, has announced the renewal of its contract to provide mechanical and electrical services and helpdesk support at Standard Chartered but is keeping tight lipped on who the client is (an international law firm’s new flagship London headquarters we believe) for mobile M&E maintenance and reactive works.

 

Babcock by the Babbling River

Babcock has been appointed as 'sole strategic asset management partner' for seven years for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (Richmond Council) to deliver an integrated property and estate management solution that combines strategic asset management, facilities management, estate rationalisation and project management services.

This ‘Total Facilities Management’ contract will see Babcock work in partnership with Richmond Council to optimise the council’s use of its physical assets and guide its long-term strategy for asset management. Babcock will be incentivised to help Richmond Council to drive down costs, increase efficiency, improve utilisation and in due course increase revenue.

Contract mobilisation started in early 2015, with delivery commencing from 1 April 2015. The contract is valued at up to £56 million over the seven-year period, with the potential for a further three-year extension. Over this time Babcock is committed to improving the condition of Richmond Council’s estate comprising in excess of 100 properties - ranging from offices and libraries to museums and open spaces  - and to helping the council improve service levels for the 200,000 people in its community.

Richmond Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councilor Pamela Fleming, said: “The Council is always looking at ways in which it can deliver better services for less money for its residents. This contract will certainly do this and deliver considerable savings. This outsourcing will deliver improved services and save our community money in the longer term.”
