FM Digest - Contracts, Acquisitions, Awards, Etc

PageGroup has selected the Salisbury Group to provide a range of services, from maintenance and engineering through to compliance monitoring, for 30 UK and Ireland sites.

The worldwide recruitment company, which trades under the brands of Michael Page, Page Personnel and Page Executive, have decided to consolidate several maintenance contracts to Salisbury to streamline costs and services.

Chris Spratt, Director of Property and Facilities for UK, North America and RoW at PageGroup, said: "We wanted a supplier that treats us as a customer, not just an account number. A partner that places emphasis on making a personal connection with us to find out our requirements."


Premier Elected Back to Houses of Parliament

Following an open and competitive tender, Premier Workplace Services has been awarded the contract for the provision of removals, porterage and storage to the Houses of Parliament.

The five year contract covers day to day activities across the House of Commons and the House of Lords as well as special occasions including the State Opening of Parliament.

Three divisions of Premier Workplace Services will continue to operate across the Palace of Westminster as well as a number of other buildings including Portcullis House.  Premier Moves will retain its full time porterage team on site carrying out dining room and conference room set-ups as well as all moves and changes.  Premier IT Systems also retains the operation for the movement of desktop IT within the Parliamentary Estate.

Security clearance is required for all staff servicing the House of Commons and the House of Lords.


Mitie Playing Maryhill

Mitie’s property management business has been awarded a new contract with Maryhill Housing Association in Glasgow.

The new contract will see Mitie deliver a range of reactive repairs and maintenance works over the three-year contract, which has an optional two-year extension.

Bryony Willett, Chief Executive of Maryhill Housing Association, said: “We believe that Mitie’s property management services will help us deliver an excellent repairs service to our tenants."


WICE - Women in Construction and Engineering (WICE)

Congratulations are due to all the winners of the WICE Awards. Kath Fontana, MD of ISS Technical Services was there to present the award for Best Woman in the FM Category, which was won by candidate; Francesca Kavanagh.

The aim of the awards is to make the construction and engineering industries more enticing to women, create role models for women considering a career in these sectors, while also encouraging companies to employ and train more women in these industries.

“It was a fantastic night, celebrating such talented women in construction, FM and engineering and I was honoured to present the first ever Best Woman in FM Award to Francesca.” said Fontana.


Bellrock Buys Its Profile

Bellrock has acquired Profile Consultancy Limited which provides a service charge consultancy in the retail and leisure sector. Profile is currently managing some £250 million service charges per annum.
