Floating Numbers - Recruiter Recruiter Reaps Rewards

A three-year total recruitment solutions contract with construction and civil engineering group Britannia valued at £3 million has helped Datum RPO to make 2015 a record-breaking year.

The deal with Britannia follows a number of wins for Datum including Vinci PLC and CBRE Norland Managed Services.

Datum was awarded the contract with Britannia following an evaluation procedure that included implementing a streamlined recruitment process as well as ensured legal compliance.

The outsourcing solution involves Datum RPO managing Britannia’s suppliers of permanent and temporary staff via any recruitment agency.

“Britannia Construction required a solution to effectively manage its engagement of temporary resource needs, for which Datum proposed a process that not only minimised risk but delivered long-term value to the business,” explains Datum RPO MD Raymond Pugh. “We’re seeing a significant increase in organisations wanting to address the issues surrounding their temporary resource requirements but without understanding how to go about it. Companies are looking for partners who are ahead of the game in providing solutions and who can also give impartial advice. Understanding our clients’ business model and their goals is part our success.”

“Managing recruitment effectively is a consistent demand within our business and has been a challenge for a number of years,” says Kevin Harris, Head of Business Services for Britannia Construction. “With an ever increasing burden of legislative compliance surrounding our temporary resource engagement process and a growing shortage of candidates, we knew we required a more effective management solution. This is why we decided to outsource the controlling of our temporary resource management to professionals who have an understanding of our business.”

Datum RPO provides fully outsourced solutions to manage permanent and temporary agency labour. The benefits of Datum’s solution include reduced administration, legislative compliance, taking care of management information, consolidated invoicing, improved supplier engagement and the ability to challenge the use of temporary and contract labour.
