Contract Changes Lead to Clean Sweeps

Housing provider, The Hyde Group has announced plans for a new £30m framework agreement model for the procurement of combined cleaning and grounds maintenance contracts throughout London and the South East whilst Interserve has won a seven year deal for cleaning on the Docklands Light Railway.

“This procurement is part of Hyde’s ongoing strategy to deliver services and value for money and to offer residents influence over these important services," said explained Carol Carter, Group Housing Director.

The Hyde Group is a providers of affordable housing in London, the South East of England and the East Midlands; providing homes and services to over 95,000 customers.

Hyde’s frameworks will look to:

  • A simplified process to select partner suppliers for a term of up to 6 years
  • A sensible approach which separates lots by location and value
  • Be friendly to small and medium enterprises
  • Find a limited numbers of bidders with an anticipated 3-5 contractors per lot
  • Gain insight into what residents require and value through the input of a trained Resident Procurement Panel

Hyde is encouraging potential suppliers to apply for this opportunity by submitting a short form of Pre-Qualification Questionnaireby 30 January 2015.

Interserve wins £32 million cleaning deal

Interserve has won a seven-year contract to provide cleaning and security services for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), on behalf of KeolisAmey Docklands. The £32 million contract actually started in December 2014 and covers seven routes and 45 depots.

 

Over 130 people have TUPE transferred to Interserve to manage the 24/7 service operations covering station and fleet cleaning, vegetation control, winterisation, depot security, events stewarding, security revenue protection and barrier control.

 

Graham Thwaites, MD for transport at Interserve said: “The solution we’ve developed for the DLR is based on a strong understanding of the demands of the transport industry. Our dedicated transport team will utilise best practice, innovation and process re-engineering to ensure the services continue to deliver a clean, safe and secure environment for the DLR and the one million passengers that use it every year.”
