Carillion Learners Encouraged To Keep Up Studies

The British Institute of Facilities Management has written to reassure the learners from Carillion currently studying for a BIFM qualification in Facilities Management that their situation is unaffected by the news and encouraging them to complete their studies as normal.

 Chair, Linda Hausmanis said: “The news of Carillion is indeed a sad moment for all those affected.  BIFM’s immediate priority has been to reassure the learners from Carillion studying for qualifications in Facilities Management that their situation is unchanged. I want to encourage them to continue their self-development and I wish them luck.

 

BSRIA launch Blue Book for 2018

The famous Blue Book contains industry information. This includes: key contacts (including BSRIA North); conversion data; key performance indicators; market statistics; legislation and financial information. BSRIA’s services, training courses and current publications are also covered. BSRIA's annual databook for 2018 is small but concise and continues to offer a myriad of guidelines about building services.

Steve Sansom (pictured), BSRIA’s Information & Knowledge Manager, said: “The BSRIA Blue Book 2018 has a portfolio of helpful content and is a huge boon to the Membership and Information department. It is the go-to tool for giving members and industry beneficial information quickly.

"This edition details all the services offered by BSRIA with key contacts of our experts. We have retained sections on building services, technical data and legislation and updated our Brexit material."

 

BSRIA Launches Tomorrow’s Engineers Publication

BSRIA has launched its Tomorrow’s Engineers publication which was written by workplace student Emma Hardacre. This perceptive report considers engineering careers over a wide selection of industries and how to choose the appropriate career path and entry route suitable for individual interests and skills. The work was carried out as part of BSRIA’s INSPIRE project which works with local schools, national and local politicians and the media to promote STEM and change its perceptions.
