National Trust supply chain contract

The National Trust will be working in partnership with Travis Perkins Managed Services Travis Perkins Managed Services to provide a range of materials, from building materials to workshop, industrial and electrical tools, to over 500 sites in the UK.

South Warwickshire invite ISS to return

The South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust has named ISS Healthcare as its new soft services provider in a contract that is worth almost £45 million over the initial five years. The award was made through the LPP Framework and will see ISS providing patient catering and retail, cleaning, linen, logistics and security services across four sites, including the new Stratford Hospital.

The award marks a return of ISS to the Trust as they provided services to them up until 2010. This is the second NHS Trust who have returned to ISS this year, closely following South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

 

 

Dorset Trust in estates partnership

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (DCH) and Interserve Prime (IP) have announced a new joint venture partnership to enable the transformation of the Dorchester hospital estate.

The 10-year agreement will see IP work with the Trust to develop and deliver its estate strategy and in line with Dorset’s Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP). Dorset is one of eight areas nationally leading the way to become an Accountable Care System, an ‘evolved’ version of an STP which will integrate care at a local level.

The partnership will design, build and secure finance for new facilities required by DCH, as well as providing the Trust with a spectrum of estates and support services. It will also support DCH to realise a number of commercial opportunities within its estate, which will allow the Trust to generate additional income to help deliver its wider healthcare strategy.

Nick Johnson, Director of Strategy and Business Development at DCH said: “This partnership will help us to retain and maximise the value of our estate and develop the site in line with the wider health and care system plans in Dorset.”

IP is a joint venture between international support services and construction group Interserve and healthcare property company Prime.

 

DfT contacts

Interserve has won a £90 million Department for Transport FM contract to provide total facilities management services for the Department for Transport.

The contract covers facilities at 11 departments – the DfT and nine of its agencies, plus the Environment Agency. These include services to DfT’s headquarters building in London, Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, Maritime & Coastguard Agency, British Transport Police, Highways England, Air Accident Investigation Branch, HS2 Ltd, Government Car Service, Rail Accident Investigation Branch and the Vehicle Certification Agency plus the Environment Agency.

Interserve will deliver a wide range of services including, engineering, cleaning, security, reception, landscaping and ground maintenance, helpdesk, porterage, mail room, and catering at over 1,100 buildings across the whole of the UK. It is the first time all 11 departments’ facilities management services will be handled by a single provider.

 

New foodservice division

Apleona has launched a new foodservice division. FoodSpace has been created to focus on providing contemporary foodservices underpinned by sustainable practices, either as a standalone caterer or as part of an integrated facilities management model.

Pauline Cox, Director of FoodSpace, said: "FoodSpace aims to cultivate great relationships with local growers and producers, seeking out suppliers in the areas local to cafes and restaurants for fresh produce and ethical, sustainable practices."

 

Despina Katsikakis joins Cushman & Wakefield

Despina Katsikakis, a authority on the future of work, workplace transformation, employee productivity and wellbeing, who has advised some of the world’s biggest companies including Google, Unilever, BP, GSK and Microsoft has joined Cushman & Wakefield. As Cushman & Wakefield’s Head of Occupier Business Performance, she will provide input across the firm’s business on the changing context of work and its impact on employee engagement, productivity and wellbeing.

 

Weston Electrical Services goes to incentive

Incentive FM Group has acquired a third M&E business in a move that will increase the geographical reach, scale and range of its Incentive Tec business. Weston Electrical Services (WES Group) will work as part of the existing Incentive Tec team, bringing the total number of multi skilled mobile engineers the Group now operates to over 140 nationwide with a further 80 site based technicians, and a turnover in excess of £30 million from its M&E business. In addition, WES Group also provides a range of specialist fire and security services, including access control and fire systems installation and maintenance, which will be added to the Group’s portfolio of services. 

 

Down to Dublin

CBRE has been appointed by The Convention Centre Dublin to provide hard services facilities management in a five year deal.

Under the terms of the contract, CBRE will provide electrical, mechanical & fabric maintenance.
