BIFM Awards - Winners Announced

Individuals and organisations driving innovation and delivering exceptional results in facilities management stepped into the spotlight when the winners of the 17th annual British Institute of Facilities Management Awards 2017 were revealed on Monday October 9 evening.

There were over 1,200 FM professionals at the event on London's Park Lane (Grosvenor House Hotel).  The host for the evening was star of TV, stage and screen, Stephen Mangan (pictured) - who is perhaps best known for his role in TV comedy hit Episodes; as a presenter on Have I Got News for You; and his TV role as Dirk Gently - Douglas Adams' holistic detective who uses the theory that everything is interrelated to solve his cases.

Carillion was just about able to find the cash to act as headline sponsor. The accolades were awarded in 12 categories across the themes of People, Innovation and Impact.

 

The winners were:

Leader of the Year - Andrew Smart, Cushman & Wakefield

Manager of the Year - Mike Gibson, Qwest Services, ENGIE
Team of the Year - Carillion Services, Northwood Headquarters

Lifetime Achievement - Marilyn Standley, FBIFM

Innovation in Technology and Systems - AstraZenca, Macclesfield Campus

New Product or Service of the Year - Rapid Washroooms Ltd, Smart Washroom Solutions

Impact on Customer Experience - Marco, Emirates Air Line

Impact on Employee Experience - Johnson & Johnson 2020 Workplace Experience Strategy

Impact on the Environment - Landsec, Caring for the Environment

Impact on Organisational Performance - UBS, Integrated Facility Management

Impact on Society - Recycling Lives

BIFM Awards chair of judges Steve Gladwin said: “It is an occasion that brings together the whole of the FM industry to recognise the importance of FM in facilitating the best environments in which people live, work and play,. Ultimately, the Awards showcase the adaptability of individuals and organisations across our ever-evolving and dynamic profession."

The BIFM Awards 2018 will open for entries in January.
